Designed by us based on feedback from Viking reenactors in Australia, this knife is a reproduction of two archaeological artefacts from an excavation in Birka Sweden (found in grave site 151 & 873).

The knife is made from high carbon EN45 steel and tempered. The scabbard is made from dark brown leather with a belt loop to attach to your belt and features decorative polished brass reinforcement. The brass is securely riveted with brass rivets. The knife has a leather cord so that the knife and scabbard can both be attached to the belt. This stops the knife from being lost if it happens to fall out of the scabbard.

The knife measures 22cm x 3cm (not including the cord) and the scabbard measures 22cm in length.

We have sharpened the knife ready for eating and the knife blade and brass sections of the scabbard are coated in bees wax.

Make Your Own Medieval believes in sustainable environmental practices and we are now protecting more products with Australian bees wax polish rather than anti-corrosion chemical oils. We are actively moving away from chrome tanned leather to veg tan leather products which are less damaging to the environment. Vegetable tan leather also has a higher durability, strength and better colour and tone than chrome tanned leather.

Suitable for early medieval, dark ages and Anglo-Saxon reenactment

A great gift for use at your next Medieval and Viking re-enactment encampment, LARP and SCA events or for Renaissance themed weddings.

Let the feasting begin!
