Lacing rings

Ties and lacing were a common way of fastening clothing. Prior to the invention of metal grommets and eyelets, lacing holes were made by piercing the fabric and sewing over the edges for strength. In the 15th and 16th century, metal lacing rings began being used.  These metal rings were sewn onto the fabric and used with laces or ties to fasten clothing, providing both function and a decorative element.

We stock a large range of lacing rungs, perfect for reenactors, LARP, and SCA enthusiasts looking to create or modify period-appropriate clothing. All products are in stock and shipped from Australia with fast delivery.
