Viking Woolen Dress with Twill Borders

Drawing from history, this dress is made with a classic rectangle-and-triangle construction. Its shape and style make it a very versatile part of your wardrobe. It can be worn as an outer dress or underneath a Viking smokkr (apron dress).

The body of the dress consists of rectangular panels, with side gores to give fullness to the skirt. It’s made from 100% recycled wool. It has a keyhole neckline and set-in sleeves. The neckline and cuffs have been finished with diamond twill decorative borders.

Twill weaves have been found dating back as far as the Iron Age. Wool was widely available and is the most accurate fabric for dresses for a range of personas, including Dark Ages, Anglo-Saxon, Viking, or medieval. Not only was wool readily available, but it also has many properties that make it ideal for clothing even today:
