This coin is a reproduction of a coin minted in the early Viking era between approximately 800 to 825 in the Viking settlement of Haithabu (Hedeby). Similar ship design coins have also been found in the settlement of Birka.

The face of the coin features a ship design and the reverse features what could be an image of two rosters crowing at the sun.

These coins are hand stamped by a passionate reenactor who performs historical coin minting demonstrations. As each coin is hand stamped small variations may exist adding to the hand made character of the coins.
