This coin is a reproduction of a coin minted by the Viking King Amlaíb mac Sitric in the 10^th century.

Minted at the town of York (Yorvik) between (941 – 944) during the Viking occupation of Anglo- Saxon England. 

Amlaíb mac Sitric was a Norse-Gael also known as Olaf Sihtricson and Amlaíb Cuarán, he was a renowned warrior and a ruthless pillager. During the turbulent warfare of 10^th century England he was king of Dublin and York

The face of the coin features a triquetra symbol and the reverse of the coin features a  raven war banner
