Chain Mail Voiders Riveted Round Flat Ring- Blackened
A pair of chainmail voiders made from 9mm 17 gauge blackened mild steel round flat rings alternating with solid flat round rings. The oil blackened finish assists with corrosion resistance. These are most appropriate for a late 14th century to 15th century armour harness. Used with plate armour mail gussets or voiders are sewn onto an arming doublet or gambeson to protect the arm pits and upper arms which are not covered by plate.
The use of voiders rather than full maille hauberks reduced the weight of armour and added to greater mobility.
Please note, normal finish rings shown in photo.
