This spoon is a reproduction of two extant bone spoons from the Imperial Roman period. 

The extant artifacts are held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art Accession Number 74.51.5197 in the United States and the Science Museum Group object number A646115 in the United Kingdom. The artefacts were most likely made between the 1st and 4th centuries.

 

Carved from real bone the spoon is polished smooth.

The spoon measures approximately 16cm in length and 3cm in width.
