Coifs were worn by men and women throughout the medieval and renaissance periods. In the early middle ages they could be quite simple, and by the renaissance highly decorated ones were used as part of elaborate headwear worn by women.

This coif is a simple coif made from a three piece pattern. It is suitable for clothing or costume from most of the middle ages.

It is made from soft cotton and fully lined. One size fits most.

The face opening measures 42 cm along the edge of the coif.

The neck measures 34 cm along the edge of the coif.

The ties are 46 cm long and made out of cotton fabric folded and sewn into a tube.

Please note this item is machine sewn and the machine stitches are visible.

Great for wearing under hats and mail coifs.
