This coin is a reproduction of a French gros tournois coin minted by King Philip III in the 13th century between 1270 and 1285.

An example of this coin is currently held by the Fritz Museum (item Gros tournois: CM.QC.6-R).

These coins are hand stamped by a passionate reenactor who performs historical coin minting demonstrations. As each coin is hand stamped small variations may exist adding to the hand made character of the coins.
