A Viking historical reproduction belt great for re-enactment, LARP and SCA clothing and costume.
The brass strapend is based on an archaeological find from Birka (find number 956 shown in photos below) and the belt buckle is also from a Birka find based on artefact (229).
The brass knotwork buckle is stitched onto the belt for extra durability and the strapend is securely riveted with two rivets and supporting washers.
Made from 3.5mm thick quality brown crunch veg tan leather with a strap width of 20mm. Crunch leather is a full grain leather which shows more of the natural grain of the leather. The leather is tanned with two layers of natural transparent dyes. The transparent dyes protect the leather while also bringing out the natural characteristics of the leather. Vegetable tan leather has a higher durability, strength and better colour and tone than chrome tanned leather.
Make Your Own Medieval believes in sustainable environmental practices and we are actively moving away from chrome tanned leather to veg tan leather products which are less damaging to the environment.
Available in three sizes 130cm, 150cm and 170cm in length.
