Viking Kaftan Wool Coat

This wrap-style wool coat is based on garments often referred to as a klappenrock, or a kaftan, a form seen in early medieval and Viking clothing. 

It is made from brown 100% wool.

The edges are finished with a contrasting embroidery. 

In wear, the coat falls to around knee length or a bit below, depending on height, making it suitable for both everyday impressions and more martial kits. It pairs naturally with belts and accessories, as shown, and can be adjusted at the front to sit closer to the body or more open depending on preference.

The wrap construction allows for a degree of flexibility across chest sizes.

This is a practical outer layer suited to reenactment, LARP, or general early medieval kit.

Care Instructions
Hand wash or use a gentle wool cycle in cold water.
Lay flat to dry.
Steam on low if required.
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
