Be the envy of your Living History group with this reproduction bag or pouch.

This bag is inspired by bag fittings from an archaeological finds from Birka and Rösta. This Tarsoly is directly reconstructed from a grave find in Rösta, Jämtland in Sweden, dated ca. 10th century. And from similar finds from the famous Viking settlement of Birka (Sweden) in graves 93B, 154, 716, 731, 855, 904, 943, 956. Those “type 3A bags” are commonly known “Birka Viking Bags” even though they originated from the Hungarian steppes and were probably imported to Scandinavia through contact with the Magyars.

Bags with decorative fittings such as these were popular in northern and north eastern Europe.

The bag has a leather loop at the top, allowing it to easily fit on your belt. The bag measures (6x7”) 17.5cm x 15cm in size. It is 4cm deep and is made from 3mm thick leather.

The fittings are made from solid brass.

A practical accessory for Living History, Reenactment, LARP or Cosplay.
