This coin is a reproduction of a coin minted by the Viking King Amlaíb mac Sitric in the 10th century.

Minted at the town of York (Yorvik) between (941 – 944) during the Viking occupation of Anglo- Saxon England. 

Amlaíb mac Sitric was a Norse-Gael also known as Olaf Sihtricson and Amlaíb Cuarán, he was a renowned warrior and a ruthless pillager. During the turbulent warfare of 10th century England he was king of Dublin and York

The face of the coin features a triquetra symbol and the reverse of the coin features a  raven war banner

These coins are hand stamped by a passionate reenactor who performs historical coin minting demonstrations. As each coin is hand stamped small variations may exist adding to the hand made character of the coins.
