Netherlands Römer Glass - Olive Green
The Römer glass is a type of glass which used from the end of the 15th century up to the 19th century and was popular in Netherlands. Its shape evolved over the years and slight variations can be seen, but they featured cylindrical stems, and a bulbous bowl.
Medieval craftsmen took great pride in decorating their work. One of the common ways to decorate drinking glasses was to put knobs (or bumps) on them. This style of glass was commonly decorated on the stem and this replica features decorative glass buttons on the stem. This texture also serve to make the glasses less slippery, and less likely to be dropped when used.
This handmade glass measures 15.5cm high and has a capacity of 330mL. It is perfect for your reenactment feasting table or for home use.
