Leg Garter Belts in Green Veg Tan Leather (Pair)
Hose were worn throughout the middle ages and renaissance by both men and women.
Ladies hose came to just above the knee and were held up with a tied or buckled garter just below the knee. Men’s hose were fastened higher, at the hip or waist, but to help hold the hose up and to avoid saggy ankles, men could also wear a garter below the knee. Garters varied according to class and wealth ranging from simple tied garters made from a scrap of fabric to highly decorated buckled garters.
These buckled, green leather reproduction garters will add a touch of class to any medieval or renaissance outfit. They are great for re-enactment, LARP, SCA garb and historical costumes. Why not make them unique to you by adding a strapend, belt mounts or leather tooling?
The garters are 14mm wide and made from 3mm thick quality green vegetable tan leather. The total approximate length of each garter is 75cm and feature a brass reproduction buckle.
